December 2021

Season’s Greetings from your friendly neighbourhood blog-hosts, OFS Trustees Elisabeth Luard and Gamze Ineceli, and the merriest-possible New Year to everyone who’s stuck with us through thick and thin throughout 2021.

Our monthly gatherings at the Kitchen Table carry on apace (programme news will be on its way shortly).  And while we don’t record the actual talk-fests – what’s said at the Kitchen Table stays there – regulars here will know that, post-event, we stitch together a digest of illuminating nuggets from the chatlines.

Meawhile as the year turns, we’re looking forward with happy anticipation to discussing 2022’s Portable Food in-person in Oxford at St. Catz (fingers crossed!) and continuing on-line at our all-singing, all-dancing new website.
Keep following the blog for exciting articles to come on Portable Food…

The holiday period is a great opportunity to tidy up at that almost-done paper-proposal (only 500-1000 words – easy) and submit it to editor Mark McWilliams by January 31st. Don’t delay, just press ‘send’ – whatever next year brings, seems like it’s going to be a bumper year for armchair travellers!

Looking back on 2021, we are reminded of some of the unforgettable virtual moments we’ve experienced together and look very much forward to new discoveries and conversations in the New Year.
